Job Description Job Description TX-STAR has been serving school
districts since 2005 and has serviced over 40 school districts and
a multitude of other agencies. Our staff are highly trained and
have experience in educational environments, and more specifically
the roles involved in special education. This experience working
with all disciplines of Special Education Staff provides unique
insight into working with districts and making correct matches
between contract service providers and the District. We have some
fantastic schools in Texas that we are continuing and actively
recruiting for at the start of and all through each school year!
About the role: The teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will
provide instructional support to students identified as deaf or
hard-of-hearing (AI) in order to ensure a quality educational
program that is based on federal and state standards as well as
sound instructional practices. What you have: A Bachelor's degree
from an accredited four-year college/university. Experience with
students with hearing loss. Maybe as part of University training. A
Valid Texas teaching certificate as a teacher of the
deaf/hard-of-hearing or teacher of students with auditory
impairments. Bonus skills: Knowledge of the unique communication
needs of students with an auditory impairment. Knowledge of various
types of hearing loss, communication needs, and adaptive/assistive
devices and equipment used by students with auditory impairments.
Knowledge of sign language and the ability to instruct students to
speak/understand sign language. Knowledge of curriculum and
instruction at all grade levels. Knowledge and ability to
participate in the ARD process. Ability to work cooperatively and
collaboratively with campus teachers to assure that AI students are
able to participate in classroom activities with necessary
accommodations. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational,
communication, and interpersonal skills. Location: Dallas area
