Job Description:
The Supply Chain Manager - 3PL Operations is responsible for
leading end-to-end supply chain activities across multiple client
accounts and facility locations. This role ensures fulfillment,
transportation, and inventory management operations meet or exceed
contractual service levels, while driving continuous improvement
and operational excellence. Acting as a strategic partner to
customers and internal teams, the Supply Chain Manager will oversee
staffing, systems, safety, and performance metrics in a dynamic
third-party logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Client
Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for
assigned 3PL clients, managing relationships, expectations, and
service level agreements (SLAs). Operational Execution: Oversee
multi-site fulfillment, transportation, inventory control, and
customer service functions across dedicated and shared-use
facilities. Performance & KPI Management: Develop, monitor, and
report on key metrics related to order accuracy, on-time shipping,
productivity, labor efficiency, and cost per unit. Process
Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement process
enhancements using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to
drive cost savings and service improvements. Team Leadership:
Manage, coach, and develop supervisors and front-line staff,
fostering a performance-driven and safety-first culture.
Scalability & Peak Planning: Plan and execute staffing models and
workflow designs to support seasonal volume spikes, promotions, and
new client onboardings. Systems & Technology: Maximize the use of
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management
Systems (TMS), and fulfillment automation to ensure real-time
accuracy and visibility. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to
all regulatory, safety, and company standards across all
operational areas. Risk Mitigation: Manage logistics risks,
inventory shrinkage, and disruption scenarios through preventive
measures and contingency planning. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with customer service, finance, IT, and business
development teams to support client growth and operational
alignment. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in third-party
logistics or contract distribution environments, managing
high-volume B2B and/or B2C fulfillment. Bachelor's degree in Supply
Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Proven track record in managing client relationships within a 3PL
context. Deep understanding of logistics operations, cost drivers,
and SLA management. Strong leadership and team-building skills,
with experience leading multi-site teams. Expertise in WMS/TMS
platforms and operational reporting tools. Familiarity with Lean,
Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies. Excellent communication,
analytical, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft
Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio. Employment Type: Full Time
