- Here’s What You Need Associate’s Degree in Applied Science –
Required OR Completion of an accredited program in cardiovascular
technology (Must obtain RCIS within 6 months of hire) – Required OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Plus 2 years of work experience
in invasive cardiology) – Required 1 year vascular or cardiac
angiography – Preferred OR 2 years experience required if only high
school diploma – Required Cath lab experience for at least 2 years
highly preferred, IR experience preferred Must be able to operate
Xray equipment ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
– Upon Hire – Required GMRT – General Medical Radiologic
Technologist (If ARRT only) – Upon Hire – Preferred RCIS –
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Obtain within 6
months if graduate from Cardiovascular Accredited Program) –
Required LMRT – Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (If RCIS
only) – Upon Hire – Preferred RCES – Registered Cardiac
Electrophysiology Specialist (For EP labs only) – Upon Hire –
Required BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (Prior to providing
independent patient care and maintained quarterly) – Required ACLS-
(within 90 days of hire)– Required What You Will Do Patient Care
