PRN (United States of America) Job Description : Job Purpose: The
primary purpose of the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
position is to provide diagnostic patient care services using
ultrasound and related diagnostic techniques to perform routine,
vascular, interventional, and non-invasive procedures. Supports the

Education Graduate of an approved Diagnostic Ultrasound Program In
addition to required entry level registries, the sonographer must
demonstrate clinical competency in performance of abdomen,
obstetric and gynecologic, or vascular procedures Licenses and/or
Certifications (Required and Preferred) Current Basic Life Support
Certification RDMS – Abdomen or OB/GYN or ARRT (S) Related Work
Experience and Other Skills Ability to work as a team player
Ability to work in a cost effective manner Bilingual skills
preferred Effective organizational and time management skills One
year computer experience preferred with systems in Microsoft Office

techniques as necessary; strictly obeys isolation and - infection
control procedures. Cleans and disinfects equipment after each
patient use, cleans the work area as needed and daily. Operates
equipment and performs job- related duties in a safe manner at all
times Patient Care/Clinical Responsibilities: Verifies the patients
identity and the procedure to be performed, verifies informed
consent has been obtained when required. Explains the procedure to
the patient to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation. Regularly
confers with Radiologists. Understands the different roles within
the ultrasound department and - has the ability to work in all
roles effectively. Copes with emergent situations, respects
confidentiality of patient records, and performs procedures in a
professional manner. (ultrasound) Performs Admin/Clerical
functions, including Patient Throughput: Regularly reports
"free-time" to team leader, asks for additional work assignments,
and volunteers to assist in other areas of the department. Responds
to changes in the work schedule as - necessary; demonstrates the
ability to perform procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs Imaging Support Functions: Knows the general condition of
the equipment in the assigned work area at all times; promptly
notifies team leader of equipment malfunctions. Regularly checks
support equipment, accessories and supplies; keeps area stocked
with supplies at all times. Promptly notifies team leader of needed
- supplies. Consistently demonstrates a cost-conscious attitude;
actively seeks to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
Documents all procedures performed and inputs accurate charges
utilizing the PACS and HIS/RIS Systems. (standard) Performs
Training and Development Functions: Assists in departmental
orientation as required; regularly participates in clinical
education for students. Knowledgeable of general department
functions; able to assume other employees duties in their absence.
Promotes the development of other staff members skills in their
areas of expertise. Participates in the departmental KVI/CQI
process. Participates in the hospital process improvement
recommendation program. Provide optimum customer service, cordially
greets customers and assists patient to procedure destination and
coordinates transportation of outpatients and inpatients. Technical
Competence/Performance/Sterile Technique: Uses cognitive
sonographic skills to identify record and adapt procedures as
appropriate anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information on
images. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the performance of
routine and interventional Ultrasound procedures including
ultrasound guidance. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the
use of standard Ultrasound - equipment. Uses independent judgment
during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between
normal and pathologic findings. Analyses sonograms, synthesizes
sonographic information and medical history and communicates
findings to the appropriate physician. Is able to complete all
prescribed vascular and non-vascular exams meeting departmental
standards. (ultrasound) Other duties as assigned - Methodist Celina
Medical Center is located on a 40 acre campus just off of Dallas
Parkway, and will serve as the community’s first full-service
hospital, serving Celina and surrounding communities. The
four-story medical center will open with 51 beds, with plans for
expansion, and will feature a range of services including
cardiology, women’s services, orthopedics, robotic surgery, and
