Job Description:
Large Food Manufacturer is seeking an
Buyer.Responsibilities:
Manager inventory levels and available product for plant and
co-packersWorks with vendors to ensure timely delivery of
ingredients for regular manufacturing and projectsFollow through on
with vendors on product qualityMonitor expiration date of product
and coordinate returns to vendorsNegotiate prices with vendors and
seek opportunities for cost savingsWork with Quality Control to
complete and track all vendor returns related to packaging while
maintaining QA log book.Maintain AS400 computer files (purchase
order purge to history, packaging master files, and vendor master
files).Coordinate purchasing related co-packing activities with
in-house departments.Requirements:1+ years of purchasing and/or
materials management experienceMinimum BA/BS in Business or
Engineering related disciplineExperience buying ingredients,
packaging for food manufacturingAS400 experience preferredAPICS
certification preferredLocal candidates only.
