connect. SUMMARY The Arms & Armor Department at Heritage Auctions
seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Cataloger to assist in the
cataloging and presentation of firearms and related militaria for
upcoming auctions. This position focuses on accurately describing,
organizing, and preparing firearms for catalog publication and
sale. The ideal candidate has a solid working knowledge of firearms
history, models, and manufacturers, and is comfortable working in a
fast-paced, team-oriented environment. LOCATION: Dallas, TX or

experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Write clear,
accurate, and concise catalog descriptions for firearms, edged
weapons, and related militaria. Identify firearms by make, model,
caliber, and serial number, verifying authenticity and condition.
Assist with photography preparation and quality control for catalog
imagery. Maintain consistent formatting and adherence to Heritage
Auctions’ cataloging standards. Research provenance, historical
background, and key manufacturing details as needed. Proof and edit
catalog text prior to publication. Collaborate with the Firearms
Specialists and Consignment Directors to ensure accuracy and
consistency across listings. Respond to inquiries from bidders and
assist with preview displays. Ensure safe handling and storage of
all firearms in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements: EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination
of education and experience. 2–5 years of experience cataloging or
appraising firearms in an auction house, museum, or retail firearms
environment. In-depth knowledge of firearms history, mechanisms,
and identification required. Familiarity with U.S. and
international firearm makes and models from the 18th century to the
present. Federal Firearms License (FFL) or eligibility to obtain
one is preferred. SKILLS & ABILITIES Excellent attention to detail
and organizational skills. Strong written communication and
descriptive writing abilities. Basic proficiency in Microsoft
Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to handle multiple projects under
tight deadlines. Team-oriented, reliable, and professional.
