Description New career opportunity for an Employment Litigation
Attorney with Chubb House Counsel at the Connecticut firm of Musco
& Iassogna. The attorney in this role will be responsible for
defending Chubb insured clients in a wide range of claims involving
employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and Directors’
and Officers’ liability, including responding to demand letters,
charges of discrimination at the administrative agency level, and
litigation in state and federal courts. Specific duties will
include: administrative agency work, preparing position statements
and responses and appearing at agency hearings and other
proceedings; trial work, conducting and defending depositions and
engaging in other pre-trial discovery, drafting pleadings, engaging
in motion practice; researching, briefing and arguing appellate
matters; representing client at mediations, negotiating
settlements; complying with Chubb litigation guidelines, generating
reports and evaluations on assigned cases; and other duties as
assigned. Range of clients to be represented encompass small to mid
size corporations, privately held organizations, not for profit
organizations, educational institutions, health industry
institutions, cultural institutions,
condominium/cooperative/homeowner association boards of directors,
financial services institutions, real estate developers and
managers, technology companies. Qualifications A successful
candidate must be an attorney licensed to practice before
Connecticut state and federal courts, should possess 5 years of
demonstrated success in litigation a wide range of employment and
labor liability matters, and should possess the professional
stature and business acumen needed to be a productive member of the
firm. The successful candidate should also possess: Admission to
Connecticut State Bar and the U.S. District Court of Connecticut,
and Admission to the State Bar of Massachusetts is preferred but
not required. Experience litigating before Connecticut State and
Federal courts and administrative agencies, including EEOC and the
CHRO. Extensive knowledge of current procedural and substantive
law, as well as Federal and State court and administrative agency
rules. Advanced and effective oral and written advocacy skills and
negotiation tactics. Critical thinking and analytical skills
necessary to accurately analyze and evaluate complex legal
liability and damages issues, and to develop effective litigation
plans and resolution strategies. Commitment to effective and
strategic communication with clients regarding litigated matters,
including consistent adherence to time-sensitive formal reporting
requirements. Professional, proactive, timely, and consistent
communication with clients, insurer’s Claim professionals, and
colleagues. Excellent time management and organizational skill with
the ability to work independently and excel in a high-volume
environment. Proficiency utilizing digital case management and
communication technology and tools, in order optimize performance,
efficiency, and results.
